 About Conrad Hall

Conrad Hall

Conrad Hall is a full-time freelance copywriter specializing in online, direct response and social media marketing. He has published 6 books on internet marketing in the last 18 months, edited two Home-Based Business Tax Guides and become a leading voice on what’s working in the Internet Marketing industry.

A copywriter for just under 2 years, Conrad has rocketed onto the scene to become Bob Bly’s #1 choice for new projects. He has collected big name clients such as March of Dimes Canada and Early to Rise, and set a new standard for quality in How-To information products.

Here is what other people are saying about Conrad and his writing:

Though I've only read through Chapter 1 once, let me say you've hit a home run! Surprisingly personable, it appears to me you've got the perfect "One-Stop-Social-Networking Shopping" resource! Congratulations Conrad, seriously!

At first glance, let me say it's easy to navigate, and understand, even for the novice social networker. Though I don't yet know the price you intend to charge, the first chapter gives plenty of solid, usable advice and plenty of resources to imply the value is quite impressive!

I like it that you have made it easy to read, a bit more "chit-chatty" (and I only say you've mastered a very nice "social networking" face with which to present this useful material) and it's nicely formatted.

It is just fantastic! What an amazing resource you have created for individuals who are interested in social media.

I think that many people are very overwhelmed with social media, yet understand that it is a very powerful business tool.

Kudos to you!

I am making my way through Starting an Internet Marketing Business After 50, and have found it well written, easy to comprehend, and very informative. Was a tiny bit disappointed when it came to the part I'm still searching for... nuts & bolts of doing it myself - and your recommendation was to hire it done, (concerning webmasters). But... I'm beginning to think that is the shortest route from here to there...

Your writing is clean, easy to navigate and reference later, and always full of great info. Thanks for all you do!

What You’re Getting…

You’re getting step-by-step, illustrated instructions to create profiles in Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter – written by Conrad Hall, author of the The 2010 Social Media Directory.

Plus there’s a complete, clear explanation of what social networking is.

Click here for your free solution.

Why We’re Giving It Away

Because Seth Godin told us to, actually.

Seth sent 10 books to the bestseller list by giving away a big piece of each one for free – just like we’re doing now. Then he sold the digital version at a huge discount compared to the hardcopy – we’re doing that, too.

This material is taken from The 2010 Social Media Directory. We’re giving away two chapters – Chapter 2, What is Social Networking, and Chapter 3, Creating Your Social Media Profiles.

The reason we’re giving away this information is because it solves your biggest problem.

Equation Research says the biggest problem businesses have with using social media is not knowing where to start. You can see by the titles of the two chapters that we have the answer to that problem.

How to Build on the Information

The best way to build on the information you’re getting is to use a little bit of time each day – set aside 20 to 30 minutes total – to explore Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

You definitely want to put a limit on your time because it’s very easy to get “caught up” in these sites. One of the reasons I started using a service called Ping.fm is that every time I did a status update, I would get distracted. In no time, I’d be looking at messages, reading profiles and exploring groups.

Ping.fm is listed in the directory. It’s in the section on coordinating your social media. Ping.fm is an aggregator – it allows me to send status updates to all of my social media sites at once. This makes it a lot easier for me to stay on track.

Naturally, getting a copy of The 2010 Social Media Directory is a great way to build on the information you’re getting – and it shows you how to make the most of your social media marketing time.

The 2010 Social Media Directory makes finding a social media site as easy as flipping through the yellow pages. That’s why we call it a directory.

Do you know the name of the site you want? Then flip to the Index of Sites to see where it’s listed.

Know what kind of site you want, but not what it’s called? That’s easy.

Just flip to the social networking, social bookmarking or video sharing section and browse the descriptions of more than 300 sites to find one that fits what you’re looking for.

And because you’re getting a digital version of The 2010 Social Media Directory, we have a special price. There's a page that tells you all about it in the excerpt.

Who I am

You already know my name: Conrad Hall.

People confuse my name with the father and son cinematographers all the time. Sorry, there’s no Oscar sitting over my fireplace. But there is a nice painting and a stick Yvette and I found on a walk one day.

That was a really special day. Yvette keeps the stick because it brings back happy memories. Maybe that’s actually better than a golden statue.

You can find out more about me at www.ConradHallCopywriting.com (my business site) or www.TheMarketingSpotlight.com (my blog).

The 2010 Social Media Directory is my sixth book. My other titles include How to Write E-Books for Fun and Profit, Starting an Internet Marketing Business after 50, and The Instant Amazon Bestseller Formula.

Writing is my second career. I went full-time as a copywriter in October 2007 and started writing my first book in January 2008. Between January 2008 and September 2009 (19 months) I’ve written 6 books.

You could say I was releasing some pent up creativity!

Of course, I’ve always been involved with writing. Before turning to it full-time, I worked in construction putting up skyscrapers and doing home renovations.

On skyscrapers, I was the guy who read the drawings and told everyone where the walls and columns went. It was a lot of fun, but having to be at work by 4 in the morning was not always a treat.

In home renovations, I did everything from hang ceiling fans to putting additions onto houses. I’ve even built quite a few houses from the foundation up.

And writing was always there in the background.

My grandmother – Grandma Charters – gave me my start one summer when I asked to play with an electric typewriter. Like most kids, I spent a couple weeks every summer with my grandma. It was two weeks of paradise, boredom, extra rules and some of my happiest memories.

Anyway, one day Grandma had this Selectric electric typewriter out for whatever reason, and I got an idea.

“Grandma, can I use the typewriter?”

“What for?”

“I don’t know. I just want to type something.”

“No, Conrad. That isn’t a toy. You can’t just play with it.”

Okay, I don’t really remember the conversation, but you know how it is with kids. I saw Grandma typing away and thought it was cool that she didn’t even have to look at her fingers. I wanted to be like my Grandma – she was a grand old Dame.

Being a bit of a smart aleck, I decided to get the better of Grandma. She had been a school teacher so her house was full – jam packed, actually – with books. She was always encouraging me to read, so I went hunting for some poetry books (Grandma’s favorite).

“Grandma, if I type some poems from these books, then can I use the typewriter?”

I was maybe 7 or 8 years old when I ask that question. I’ve been writing ever since.

And my Grandma was such a smart lady, she insisted I “use all my fingers” and keep my eyes on the book. She had me touch-typing before ever taking my first typing class in school.

You could say writing is a bit of a passion for me.

Where We’re Going from Here

I suppose the first thing we should do is make sure you have your free excerpt from The 2010 Social Media Directory. Here’s the download link again:

Click here for your free solution.

Your next step is to share your free excerpt with all your friends. After all, good information is only useful when we share it, right?

You can send them to this page, if you like. Or you can just e-mail the PDF file to your friends. The material is copyright protected so please don’t make any changes, but you can give it away as much as you like.

And that’s about it. Thanks for reading.

Sincerely,
Conrad Hall

P.S.
I know this “sales page” doesn’t have all the splash and hype you’ve gotten used to on this sort of page. I hope you’re not too disappointed that I focused on giving you answers, and showing you who I am.

Please feel welcome to get in touch with me through feedback@conradhallcopywriting.com. It’d be great to know what you think of the directory – and especially this page. Lots of my fellow copywriters think it’s going to bomb because there’s no hype.
